she wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill be full of love?

A question for ya'll... I've got quite a few paintings that are my favourites that quote copyrighted lyrics. I'm very iffy about offering these prints for sale on the internet, because they are copyrighted, and there's a very slight chance that someday I could get sued! Which isn't that cool. I'm seriously sick of getting sued! So I've got the option of a) not offering them for sale at all or b) changing the lyrics on them to something else. Most of my paintings, because I am so unnessessarily verbose, had little comments (or six page essays!) associated with them.

said the jack of spades to the queen of hearts: "It doesn't matter" "what she says" "(she'll never leave her husband for you)" (this is pretty close to the original comment.)
buying coffee by the pound: no one seems to like this one. Anyway, changing the text will mean completely replacing the sky (before this hackjob scan there is actually a watercoloured sky) and i don't know what to change it to yet.
oh lowly urchin: actually not a problem because there aren't any lyrics on the piece and the thee word title isn't enough for copyright infringement.

okay, that's actually it? i thought there was more.

anyway, I have no polling capabilities on this account, so you're going to have to vote all manually (if you fancy.)

  • we don't care about the words we just like the pictures, do whatever
  • i want them like they are now or not at all
  • i don't mind having the words changed

Sorry to post so much! since I'm going to be taking out my scanner soon, anyway, I'll try not to post again without a real live image to include! Um... since I don't have an image to include, here's a link to some: bluefooted @ deviantart. Her digital art is amazing and looks like watercolour. I'm in love. I hope she puts out an artbook of her illustrations so I can give her all my money. And you can tell her I said that!

I want to be doing art RIGHT NOW. So I'm going to go work on commissions. Yay! Time to do art? What a concept!

oh poor ghost, how lost we have become!

Okay, folks, I'm now making a list for all the cash-or-barter-system-commissions I'm behind on so I can finish them up this week and take on new commissions. If you've been promised a commission (or a for-sale piece) please speak your peace now!

Also, if you want to buy a painting or drawing, now is the time to warn me so I can dig it out of storage and deliver it to you! For the next few months I'll be living in a shoebox a 2000 kilometers from near-all of my paintings, which will be packed tightly in storage in an attic, so nothing I've done from this point past will be available, probably until Christmas. Everything put up from this point on will be available, of course, and I'll probably be desperate to get rid of it on account of the aforementioned shoe-box.

commissions:
leemoonyen - angel on the stairs (sorry it's taking so long, but it's really big and colourful for the price? it's like 30x40cm or something. I don't know. I painted over the measurements.)
_fishbone and _unsure - it's a secret surprise. :)
avenray - refresh my memory (i'm an asshole) : 3-4 5 inch water colour paintings?
zodiacdragon69 - x3 5x5 inch of tree frogs

sales:
tjernobyl - the sketchbook. which is in one of the boxes I packed. So I'll find that for you.
queenofsadism - you said you wanted something but I don't remember what! Or if you picked anything. All the pieces I have for sale are here, I haven't gotten around to updating the prices which are still all listed on the back (most are $40-$60, with one or two $100 thrown in). Also most of my sketches are for sale for cheaper (>$20.)

No more until I finish these ones! Which I hope to get done real soon. After which I will desperately need money again! I currently have NO web deisgn clients though, and I'm looking for that, so if you're looking to get a sweet-ass website together you can hire me for that. Also: If I've promised to draw you a picture for free in the past five years, I'm REALLY sorry. I am SO bad with that. I should really get my shit together but I'm SO bad at keeping my promises when it comes to that, and I run around offering all the time. If I offer to draw you something as a gift, please smack me! Because that is the liar in me. I am so, so bad. I am sorry!

Also, suburban-mythology is a sad, lonely fellow. He's had about 20 hits since his start up and they've all been from my linking to it while flustered about portfolios! Isn't that awfully sad? I think he needs some love. If you've got a website with a links page and you'd like to link to suburban-mythology.net and maybe share some love? I just realized I have no good banner for that site! In the mean time you can use his guy:

(saved to your own site, plz!)

and maybe in the future I'll make up some better ones, or if you want to screw around and make one yourself go ahead and make one and show me and maybe I'll steal it! That could be cool.
(If you're already linking to beautycaged.com, that's fine. beautycaged.com is now my business card/professional portfolio site. Art surfers go to suburban-mythology.net, prospective employers go to beautycaged.com)

More picto-updates when I get my scanner hooked up - probably not until I move down east, as I'm only going to be in Thunder Bay for another few weeks. Sorry! Maybe I can convince my parents to buy me a an iMac and then I'll have some digital pictures for you? But right now any mooching off my parents needs to be focused on not dying in Toronto, where I am suddenly being up heaved to with no warning. I was planning to stay in Thunder Bay and freeload off my parents and work for the summer to get loaded to move back to Oakville in the fall to work full time again, get more cash!monies!, and apply to school again, but suddenly I'm going to school RIGHT NOW with no funds to pay for it! Awesome!
