Yes, I’m procrastinating again… but I do have almost everything done! It’s even got a title page! I’m not sure if I should clean up the storyboard, so I think I’l going to make a copy of it, clean it up, and hold onto both and ask someone. I don’t know who. I also will probably replace the green naked lady paintings with something else, don’t know what yet, maybe Nails, although I have no good pictures of him. (Also, since that last post, Nails acquired a small mirror, in which he checks out something behind his shoulder. The sculpture is currently on display in the B Wings on Sheridan college, except the mirror fell out of his hand.) And the turn around in here is old, I’ve re-done it (twice) since then, and if I have time I’m redoing it again because everyone says it’s terrible. (I thought it was okay, maybe a little stiff, but everyone insists that it’s incredibly weak and terrible and will surely cause my downfall.)
Prismacolour markers were on sale and I was in dire need of something to distract me out of art school. Portfolio work! who needs it!
Looks like circumstances have changed, and now if I don’t get into school next year I’ll have to live with my parents next year, instead of embarking on a year-long adventure as I originally planned. I do not wnat to live with my parents for a whole year! I know that in ten years I will weep at the idea of giving up a whole year under the protection and support of my parental units, but at the moment my poor 20 year old self cannot bare the idea of being crushed in such a way! Thus, please help me get into art school!

Man, check out this awesomely self indulgent thing I made! I was thinking about my anal retentive colour schemes, and wondering if I had the whole rainbow! Turns out most of my pictures are yellow-orange-red or purple. And lots of them have two contrasting colours. Anyway!
Also: I can’t cartoon so I’m going to have to drop out of animation college. Fuck! fuck fuck!
Voicing my insecurities, the second best way I know how. (The best way being in a 1,500 word informal essay on livejournal.) I’ve been told the figure looks like me, but my nose is no where near that level of awesome.
Gift for leemoonyen for buying me Coin Locker Babies by Ryu H. I drew this while at work when I was only a few Chapters into the book. This is of the character Hashi, and at this point in the story he’s working as a rent boy in a toxic part of town. And sings in a way that hurts people’s brains! He sings songs backwards and imitates heart beats and phones ringing and car engines. It made me so happy! From that point on I’ve kind of grown to totally despise the character, but he’s still awesome. (He’s just an awesome bastard. I sort of want to leap into the pages and beat the fictional shit out of him!)
This isn’t actually anything like I imagine him looking, though. At this point I imagine him having shorter hair that’s really messy and in a half-hearted girly style, but i couldn’t manage that and have him still look japanese. At the part of the story I’m at now I imagine him having that short black spikey mullet hair all the j-rockers have. With an awesome coat like that guy in that movie.
Anyway I haven’t finished the book yet so no one tell me the end!

this is my favourite one since “Maybe god created us in his image, but we got this way through centuries of inbreeding.” (Which I can’t link to because my website is still down.) I had three specific interpretations of this, one being the literal one. If you can guess them all.. I guess you get a shiny whistle. All of the hands are messed up but I love it regardless.
beautycaged.cdom and suburban-mythology.net are both down, and thus are most of the images in the blog. i’m not about to complain, i’ve got free service! the administrator said something about transfering webmain domains, so something probably fucked up with that. I hope it goes back up again soon.
this was basically my reaction to reading Channel Zero again, while working at my job as a telemarketer. I just deleted the accompanying essay because damn it, art* should speak for itself. (The mute fucker.) I have such a hard time not explaining all the the bull-shit pretentious-ass symbolism in my own crappy work. One hundred and fifty years from now, teachers will force children to write epic essays about the symbolism in my call-center doodles, and the kids will all groan and pay $20 to buy a pre-written essay online. That is, at least, unless the conservatives outlaw school and reading by that point so that people can’t interpret the Bible. People must have been so much easier to govern when they couldn’t read their own rights, and just had to take it on faith that their rights weren’t changing! anyway, title stolen from apiphile, i have no idea if they’re quoting something or if they’re just awesome.
*Not that this is really art. “Real” art in a few (hours, days?), this should include a sculpture and some very “Sheridan” style character designs. (You might know what I’m talking about.)
Also, I am dropping the price of the sketchbook to $100.
 I am finished Nails, and oh, how I love him, in all his disfigured glory! His legs look as silly as always, and his face is all messed up, but he turned out pretty sweet anyway. I have no idea why he is gazing at his hand in such dismay – i thought of adding a Yorick skull, a small mirror (if i’d had a small mirror that would have been GREAT), cutting his hand open a bit… but ended up just leaving it as is, letting the viewer think of something. I personally think he is growing hand first, followed by his head, shoulders, hips, and finally, tiny feet. Hah hah.I took a bunch of work-in-progress shots (of the painting, not the sculpting) so i might put together an amateur tutorial/how-i-did-this thingie later. Now to bomb you with pictures!
he looks so dirty in these pictures, i don’t know what’s up with that, in reality i just looks like he’s got very, very fine hair all over him. he also don’t look this grey. Ack.
